Bring 'em Out! Jehovah Chereb, "the Lord, the sword"

Scripture: Heb 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword..." (KJV)

Devotion: The word of God is the most powerful tool to conquer any and every thing! The sword is an offensive tool. In battle, the sword is what the roman soldier was swinging to cut-through, destroy, kill and to push back their enemy. In fact, if the soldier never took his sword out in the battle, what would a soldier have done to kill his enemy? or to cause his enemy to retreat or flee?

Much like the physical sword, the word of God is meant to be used. The word of God is also meant to be spoken, out loud that is, and not to keep to yourself. In movies, you see people being quiet or tiptoeing around so as not to be found by the person(s) that may be trying to harm them. But that is not how we have to live in a life with God. We don't have to cower or hide. The word of God must be spoken - proclaimed, decreed and declared with your voice behind it!

Reflection: Speaking the word of God comes with ease when you meditate on it as well. Find a scripture or scriptures that are fitting to whatever battle moment you're in. Learn it, memorize it, and say it outloud as you confront wherever you are facing your battles. The Lord will ALWAYS deliver on HIS word! Amen to that!!!!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, because of YOUR WORD, what a mighty warrior you have made me! You are Jehovah Chereb, "the Lord, the sword" ! I thank you that not only does YOUR WORD provide me with victories, but it's also a tool to renew my mind by the pulling down of strongholds and as a result changes my actions to benefit me and not work against me. In the glorious name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
