It’s a Fixed Fight

Scripture:

But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord; he is their strength in the time of trouble. Psalms 37-39

Devotion:

How many times have you faced situations when you felt like your back was against the wall? For most, it is during those times when it seems as though the only option is to come out swinging. But as Christians, we must realize that every battle we face is testimony of God’s covering over our lives. It is evitable for us to avoid the battles. 2 Timothy 3:12 states that “…all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution”. Then Romans 5:3-4 tells us that “…we glory in tribulations also knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience, and experience hope. We cannot put confidence in our flesh. Without God’s protection, our flesh is weak. All our confidence should be in God. He will lead us to victory through guidance, and protection.

Reflection:

It is my belief that sometimes, we forget about all of the previous battles God had fought for us. Just like the Israelites, who viewed themselves as grasshoppers in comparison to the “giants” in the land Numbers 13:33, we may view the obstacles, complications, and problems that seem too large to conquer as “giants”. We must realize that we are the real giants because every battle that we face is fixed. God has already equipped us with the armor and support needed to triumph over our enemies.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, I want to thank you for all that you have been in my life and continue to be. I know that without you my life would be filled with a sense of hopelessly. As I face obstacles and various battles in my life, I want to say thank you for being my forerunner. I know that you do not allow me to go through anything that I cannot handle and that everything whether good or bad work together for your good. I am thankful for the armor and the support that you have provided. I now ask that you continue to ignite the light that burns from within me. Help me cast down my carnal thoughts and feelings of revenge. Instead, I ask that you help me to use my spiritual mind to make sound decisions, give words of inspiration and offer praise at all times. Lastly, I ask that you renew my heart and mind so I may walk in the path of victory that you have for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Respectfully submitted,

Sister Tamela
