Reflection

Below are reflections from the writers of this week's topic of Temptation. We invite our readers to answer this question, When Your Tempted to Sin, What Will You Do? Or what was your takeaway from this week's topic?

Even in the midst of the storm, you are not alone. God does provide a way to escape. All you have to do is trust in him and continue to have faith. --

Mrs. Jennifer Moses

Temptation has no power over us if we continue to set our affection on things that are above by halting the very appearance of anything not like God. God has given us the ability not to succumb to those things that may cause us to stumble. Overcoming temptation first begins with truthful with yourself about where you, being able to recognize the devils devices, and pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Temptation is here to be an incitement to sin. Its purpose is to provide some sort of pleasure whether externally or internally. It does not matter your age, gender, ethnicity or whether you have a close relationship with God or not. It somehow is a part of everyone’s life.  However, temptation itself is not a sin.  We all face temptations to sin each day. Sometimes the magnetic pull to do wrong can feel unbeatable. But because Jesus faced temptation, he knows how we feel, and he can help us overcome our temptation. It is up to us to ask for His guidance and accept His help by maintaining our integrity when we come face to face with our temptations.

This month’s topic reminds me that temptation is ever-present and it is a real fact of life. And daily we are tempted in so many ways that can cause destruction or a set-back. But what stands out to me is that with God, we can resist what we are being tempted with or by, and overcome the temptation. In the end, we do not have to be hard on ourselves because we are tempted, but we can feel confident that the victory is ours if we call on Jesus in those times!
