Scripture: Hebrew 11:6 (KJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrew10:22 (KJV )
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water
Devotion:
Having a connection with something or someone eventually becomes a personal matter. It is something that is taken very seriously. However, there are those times when we find ourselves a little too busy for the moments that matter the most. Our daily lives sometimes get in the way of our connection and we find ourselves putting off things until tomorrow that can be done today. The longer this happens, the more our connection to the true vine becomes weak and no fruit is produced (John 15:1-2). In order to remain strong, we must do the things to stay connected. Building an intimate connection with God, becomes the most personal thing that an individual can do. It gives us the opportunity to spend some one on one time with Him through studying His word and forming a strong communication line with Him. It is when we make the commitment to diligently seek him above all other things and to fully open our time to him, that our true intimacy with God starts to develop. There is no better time than now to seek God and to make spending time with Him a daily priority in your life.
Prayer:
Dear God, knowing that I am never alone, gives me comfort. At times, there are moments when life gets in the way, help me Lord to continue to press on during those moments so that my time studying your word and communicating with you through prayer is not put off. I desire Lord to daily seek you first, to worship and praise you for who you are, and to know you like you know me. Thank you Lord for allowing me to see where I am falling short at and where I need to be. Amen.
Reflection:
There never is a better time like the present and it is never too late to get on a personal level with God. He desires to be close to us and for us to be close to him. He wants us to know him like he knows us, to talk to Him anytime during the day or night, and for us to know His word and to keep it in our hearts. Don’t put off spending time with God, for there is no better time than now to draw near to Him. When we do so, he then draws near to us as well. This will bring a closeness like you have never experienced before between you and God. The fellowship and friendship that will develop, will be so personal that you will find yourself talking to Him and praising Him anywhere and everywhere you are, even while driving in your car.
