Who Do You Think You Are?

SCRIPTURE:

The King will answer them, ‘I can guarantee this truth: whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did for me’. Matthew 25:40 (GW)

DEVOTION:

Oftentimes, we as Christians (those that have repented, have been baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and filled with the Holy Ghost) forget our purpose. Oh, how we so soon forget all that God has brought us through, delivered us from, the past hurts, addictions, sins, financial struggles, sicknesses, and the list goes on. Even amid some current situations he continues to keep us sane. I should’ve gotten quite a few Amens there!!

So now since we’ve “arrived” we tend to look down on others, rather christian or not, that WE THINK aren’t on our level or haven’t yet started walking in the same healing, the same deliverance, the same salvation that God has provided us all through Christ Jesus.

So now I ask you,

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE??

It is our role to display hope, rather it’s financially, leading others to Christ, giving words of encouragement, giving our testimonies. As Matthew 25:40 says, what we have done even to the least of them, we’ve done it to Christ.

God’s message through Christ Jesus exemplified compassion, love, and acceptance. No matter what level we are on in our own eyes or others, Jeremiah 32:27 reminds us that all flesh belongs to God.

WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE??

REFLECTION:

God allows people to cross our path that we are to nudge to that next level. Are we fulfilling that role as a Christian?

PRAYER:

Lord, everlasting father, the God of love and compassion, help me, as a Christian, to accept those you have placed in my life if even for a season. Help me to show love and compassion as you did through Christ Jesus as well as through those that encouraged me and pushed me when I needed it most. I pledge to love them through, pray them through, and encourage them through as you guide me. In the name above all names, Jesus, Amen!
